This is a wonderful original oil on canvas painting of a day at the French seaside. Signed R. DeGoul, this playful painting has hints of Cezanne in the upper right corner view of the town. The suns light and shadows pour down on this lovely scene in wonderful cubist rays. The ocean is rendered with Seurat like Pointillist dabs of color. The lighthouse guards the bay from any danger and the fishing boats are all on shore, while the recreational sailboats bob and float on the days calm waters. A true delight!
