A polished stainless steel clad billiards table, custom made in 1982 for the billiards room at the Lord Hanson estate in Palm Spring, California. The table is large and regulation size with burled elm side rail that are inlaid with mother of pearl rail sites and has hand-stitched leather pockets.
The interior of the home was designed in 1982 by the renowned New York designer Renny Saltzman. The last photograph in the listing is the table in-situ at the estate.
Lord James Hanson was a very wealthy British Conservative industrialist who amassed a considerable fortune in the second half of the 20th century. His 10,000 square foot home in Palm Springs was designed and furnished with items of the highest quality and taste for the time, with wall-to-wall Edward Fields carpeting and Karl Springer furniture.
