Spalted Cottonwood Bowl by Contemporary American Artist Daniel Pollock
A solid spalted cottonwood bowl by contemporary American artist Daniel Pollock. Dan hand-selected this sculptural piece of reclaimed cottonwood that has been chip-carved and dried, creating natural organic fissures. The fissure that runs down one side is held together with dowels. This sculptural piece evokes a Japanese aesthetic in its color and execution and it into devotion to the beauty of natural materials. As with all of Dan's pieces, the wood is placed in an oven at 400 degrees, then stained and finished with a clear coat for protection. The piece is signed and dated by the artist on the underside.
Dimensions: L. 22” D. 16” H. 5.5”
