Studio Pottery Vessel by Richard Flores
A sculptural studio pottery vessel by renowned California ceramicist Richard Flores. Part of his "Urban Sketch Series" This series of vessels convey a curiosity in industrial forms and textures. This piece, in particular, plays off of Mr. Flores's references to ancient amphora vessels through the delightful handles at the top of this vessel. The three breast shaped objects that act as feet for this vessel are whimsical reference to Artemis the Mother Goddess of ancient Greece. Mr. Flores's anthropomorphic riddles add a mystery and beauty to this series of vessels.
