"Homage to Barney Reid" is a contemporary gilded and patinated steel wall sculpture by American artist Del Williams. The central figural pattern was borrowed from a printed textile that was produced by ReidArt and designed by California artist Barney Reid (1913-1992) in the 1950s. Del Williams has kept that textile in his personal collection and is now creating a line of "Homage" sculptures that highlight Reid's Mid Century style. In this iteration of the Reid inspired sculptures, the artist has surrounded the central motif with his own welded, brutalist style nails that have a gold-leafed finish.
