A large and impressive custom-made executive desk from the 1950s.  A pair of generously proportioned banks of drawers support a large and functional work surface that steps back at the sides and slightly cantilevers over the front. The desk was made using solid woods that were then veneered in highly figured European walnut. The secondary woods are oak and pine and each of the drawer interiors is made of solid oak. The desk retains its gorgeous mellow amber color and has recently been re-polished. The sleek design and choice of materials suggest a European and possibly Italian origin.
