"Timberline" is a mid 20th Century American School oil on board. The artist has used a delicate hand in the application of the paint. The different components are all lit along their edges and create a slightly ominous feeling that is heightened with perspective and the stormy sky. A sense of mystery pervades this painting. The artist has also imbued the scene with a cinematic quality by placing the figures above the timberline and behind the omni-present tree limb. It is signed Lou P on the lower left and is titled on the verso.
