A dynamically charged #714 dining table designed by Theodore Waddell for Cassina in 1972. Polished chrome plated steel wit steel tension wires. Popularly known as a "tensegrity." Pronounced: ten·seg·ri·ty noun/architecture. The characteristic property of a stable three-dimensional structure consisting of members under tension that are contiguous and members under compression that are not. Origin 1950s: from tensional integrity. The glass top shown is not original but does optionally come with this table. The original design recommends a 54" diameter .5" thick glass top with a beveled edge on the underside.
