A small and exuberant abstract oil on board composition by American artist Wesley E. Johnson. Known primarily as a California Abstract Expressionist, this particular painting may have been created on a European trip. The painting is signed on the lower right and the word "Paris" is on the lower left. The artist created his body of work in the 1960's, 1970s and 1980s and this painting is probably from the latter, based on color palette. Mr. Johnson has also added a scratching technique on the wet paint, which further texturally abstracts the subject. The piece has been newly reframed.
