A remarkable Italian walnut and sycamore six-drawer chest from the 1950s. The design of the chest, particularly in the way the handles are carved, is unlike any other and suggests that it could be associated with a top-shelf Italian Mid-Century designer like Gio Ponti or Paolo Buffa. The mixture of woods, in addition to the beautifully grained walnut make this piece a standout and exemplifies the type of forward-thinking furniture made in Italy after World War II.
