"Nostalgia", an original contemporary acrylic on canvas painting by Italian artist Roberto Miniati. Christopher Anthony Ltd. is proud to be Mr. Miniati's sole representative in the United States. Newly framed. Mr. Miniati was born in Rome in 1952 to a family of Florentine origin. Roberto Miniati's use of color blocking, tonal relationships and the sheer joy of composition in an abstract vernacular are what give power and substance to his work. Since his youth he has never stopped loving, studying and experiencing the visual arts. As he matured he increasingly refined his artistic knowledge, collaborating with gallery owners from all-over Italy and becoming himself an avid collector himself. At the same time he undertook his own journey to define his personal style by making explicit references to the historical Avant Garde of the 20th century, to geometric abstractionism, American expressionism and post-war artists. He consistently developed his own definition as an artist. Color, gesture and sign are the guideposts that direct him towards his compositional destination.
